Depressed? Get Your Vitamin D

VitaminDFlowChartGraphicNearly everyone in the Western world is vitamin D deficient and more people every day are taking chemical anti-depressants to ward off depression symptoms.

Could there be a better way of reducing or getting rid of that depression?

Patrick Gallagher reports on that a study of 81,000 women of different lifestyless and ages either eliminated or reduced substantially their depression symptoms when they returned their bodies to adequate amounts of vitamin D through a combination of sunlight, food and supplements.  The elderly are particularly susceptible to symptoms of depression, those with a Vitamin D deficiency being up to eleven times more likely to suffer from depression compared to those on a vitamin D regimen of 2,000 to 5,000 IUs daily.

Vitamin D plays a crucial role in the body’s chemistry, and deficiency causes an imbalance.

The foods highest in natural vitamin D are mushrooms (particularly Shitake), mackerel, salmon, sardines, tuna, salmon, cod liver oil, egg yoks, caviar and parsley.
